Erik and family (Dawn, David and Faith) ended up changing vacation plans last week and went to Duluth and then Waskish, MN to see his mom and other relatives who were there (not many this time). Highlights: David went on a real fire truck, toured the William A Irvin ship, threw rocks like 10 times, went on a boat ride in Red Lake- Courtesy of Uncle Pete Olson Sr., and played alot. Faith hung out on most of the events. First time at Grandma Sandy's house in Waskish for Faith. She liked the cats. Dawn Marie Olson

I've said it many times before but here it is again... I love this city. Had burgers from old world meats for dinner, then went to canal and walked to coldstone and brought it to the canal to eat. Sports garden for a beer on the patio, and finished with watching the sunset throwing rocks into the lake. I love Duluth.

My family (10 people) wants to take a short 4 day weekend vacation to Duluth this fall...I will not spend $400.00 a night on cabin/townhome and thats all i am finding. I am aware this is a tourist trap but MEA weekend shouldnt be so expensive. Any suggestions? I want all of us to stay together so we can cook meals and such....HELP...
