Just watched a news story on Rodney King's death and remembered a song from the play "Don't Bother Me I Can't Cope." I still have the button I bought at the Jazz Show Case. Anyway, the song is "It Takes a Whole Lot of Human Feeling to be a Human Being." I found the song on YouTube sung by Carmen McRae. Although it was written in the 70's, the lyrics are still relevant.

Since you all probably already know what I think about Rodney King's death and it's connection to the NYPD Stop & Frisk policy aimed at racial minorities on the opposite coast to this very day, I'd like to take this opportunity to call Carly Rae Jepsen out on the carpet. I like Call Me Maybe as much as the next gay, but how the hell did you miss the boy *before* he came into your life?? I tried to justify and rationalize this, saying "Maybe she's being poetic" or "Maybe it's an inside thing," but no! No. It makes no sense, and I demand an fricking explanation.
