what is science

The issue of GMO foods is a potent one here in Sonoma County, and should be everywhere. I am not qualified to judge the science on the subject, but these authors appear to be, and they are quite critical.

My own take is that a corporation is institutionally unqualified to do this kind of research because its motivations are at cross purposes with the values of the ecosystem and long term consumer well being. Life should never be able to be patented. If it were not, there would be a big improvement in the values motivating what science was done. http://www.alternet.org/newsandviews/article/989525/genetically_modified_food_myths_and_truths_--_a_critical_review_of_the_science/#paragraph3

So what is science good for if it cannot provide answers to real questions and gets stuck in insurmountable technicals of providing a unified description of fundamental elements of nature?

Artifacts are old dead things they have no life, no future. In what science concerned with is precisely the future' but how come many years old artifacts are so important to science? http://www.princetonreview.com/careers.aspx?cid=10#.T-Mxzm0l64g.facebook

Science is about being open minded and accepting the possibility of new ideas.

If this passes (and it likely will, unfortunately), it will completely undermine what science stands for, and will harm education in general. http://www.reddit.com/r/atheism/comments/vbm9s/despite_threats_of_violence_and_church_boycotts/
