Don't fly Air Canada under any circumstances. We're stuck in Toronto 2 days now trying for our 4th flight home. The level of incompetence is staggering.

It always amazes me that Air Canada can screw up even the simplest of tasks. Is it really that difficult to load luggage without getting it soaking wet??

Second new thing learned: Air Canada still flies18-seater prop planes between Detroit and Toronto, and when the plane is full, the sole flight steward (who is also the co-pilot, incidentally) tells the women and children to sit in the back to balance out the weight of the luggage in the tail. (This assumes that the average accumulated weight of the women will be less than that of the men, which I find kind of quaint.) Also, his instructions for folks sitting in the emergency exit seats are "Pull this lever, toss the door on the ground, climb out on the wing, and try not to fall off". Wow. You learn something new every day.
