bing maps

٩(ಥ_ಥ)۶

People tend to default to Google Maps (and before that, MapQuest), without really checking out alternatives. Traffic coverage in Bing Maps is far superior these days because of the Microsoft-Nokia partnership. Even Michigan Blvd. and Patricia Ave. in Dunedin have traffic data. http://windowsteamblog.com/windows_phone/b/windowsphone/archive/2012/06/14/beep-beep-better-traffic-coverage-on-the-way.aspx

I'm glad to see that Tripadvisor has finally restored my Travel Map after hiding it for several months - and is still using Google Maps for this. Unfortunately, they haven't gone back to Google Maps for their mobile client though and appear to be determined to proceed with Bing Maps. Bing integration with standard mobile clients is very poor :-(

Im really curious to see if apple maps are actually going to be any good. Ever since fbook switched to bing maps they have been nothing but infuriating, and I still haven't really seen a better navigator than the native one in google maps on my phone. I wonder where they are getting their base information from.

Found out our contract with Bing maps is expiring in two weeks...and dependent on our renewal, we might have to rewrite everything map related to Google Maps.........this is why I drink....

So this story makes it to CNET, TNW, 9to5Mac, Neowin amongst others. Awesome! http://techpp.com/2012/06/12/apple-sourcing-maps-data-microsoft-bing-maps/
