There were about 15 theatres back in the Vaudeville days in Birmingham, AL. Most existed until the early sixties. I saw "Fort Apache the Bronx" at the Alabama. It was the last film shown there before it closed. Hubby took me there so I could see how ornate it was. It was saved, thank goodness. Now, the efforts are underway to SAVE THE LYRIC. Only the Lyric and the Alabama remain of those 15 theatres. Take a look. Who wouldn't want to perform here and see a show!!! http://bit.ly/MBFxuD
