Spent an interesting afternoon visiting the brand new Homeland Security Institute at the Northeastern University Burlington, MA campus, with Steve Flynn, who is developing an interesting and challenging program of courses for those interested in the security field. Flynn, who left a Washington think tank to head up the Institute, is also developing projects for research in cyber security and other programs. (It also was a good excuse to drive a few miles from Cambridge while visiting the grandkids, who are in nursery school, before returning to hot and humid Washington.) http://cnponline.org/ht/display/ContentDetails/i/34998

got home not too long ago from car shopping....we left the house at approx. 8:15 am and returned around 9:30pm....we shopped in Burlington, Mt. Pleasant, and Ft. Madison, Iowa and Monmouth, Gladstone, Oquawka twice, Biggsville, Lomax, Nauvoo, Dallas City, Hamilton, and Quincy, Illinois. We finally found a vehicle in Lima, IL by accident. It was just siting in front of a house, which by the way we passed on way to Quincy. We are now the new owners of a 1995 Dodge Neon. It may not be beautiful, but it runs awesome and I'm going to save so much money on gas.
