Americans know about Snooki and the Kardashians, but have no idea who Rodney King was and are unaware that RMS Titanic was real. I have met people who do not know who Winston Churchill was. And I still have vivd memories of teachers -- TEACHERS -- telling me it was stupid to learn history, "because there was no future in it." I guess they were right. By the way, I may be the stupidest member of my high school graduating class, but I don't know why the Kardashians are famous. I can tell you the name of the only man to win the Victoria Cross on D-Day, though.
