Earthquake felt in NSW particularly at the border town of Albury.
Seismologists now think the earthquake is 5.3.
February 2011 Christchurch New Zealand earthquake was 6.3 which caused significant damage to Christchurch and the central Canterbury region, killing 185 people. The Christchurch earthquake took place 2 km deep whereas the Melbourne earthquake happened 9.9 km deep.
The difference in the depth of the quake is one of the reasons why little damage was caused in the Melbourne earthquake compared to Christchurch, according to seismologists.

It is a disgrace that the N.S.W. Conservative Govern. is cutting Workers Compensation Payments. Especially the provisions of injury sustained in travel to & from work & payments after 12 months. This whilst do nothing about the rorts by Insurance Companies who are collecting fortunes from victims payments.

hey all !!!! time for zzzzzzzzzzzzz lack of late,,,, not too much sleep in Melbourne Vic with tha quake...... anyone been in a quake ? scary shit the one in Newcastle 1989...and we only get small ones in OZ.... hope your all fine down Melbourne way.. if your up take ur mind off the quake and enjoy the rock, night !
