us open golf

♥‿♥

Good weekend of sport, great Fathers day, Van Gerwen comes good and speed throws his way to a players victory, Simon Whitlock must have wondered what hit him ! The US Open Golf was a cliff hanger for hours, no certain winner, Brett Snedon posted a good club house score, then waited for the others to falter, it worked, and he had the best Fathers day present of them all, a massive cheque, a fantastic trophy, and exemption from qualifying ( darts should take note) for many years. Me, room service, chicken wings and Pizza, with a nice Chardony, now off to catch a few rays.

It's a beautiful Monday morning in the Sierra foothills. We are forecast into the low 90's this afternoon. That's better then the triple digits we had over the weekend. The U.S. Open golf tourney was played in San Francisco over the lat four days. Tiger Woods was stranded in Sunday's fog at 7 over par. Only 6 strokes behind the winner Simpson who was 1 stroke over par. It was a tough tournament controlled by a very unforgiving course, The Olympic, was victorious over all the world's best golfers. I hope everyone has a great week...

Spent the weekend watching the U.S. Open golf tournament on TV--more than 12 hours of it. No walks on the beach, no bike rides, no outdoors (and no excercise) at all; no movies, no plays, no museums, no trips to Ravinia, no culture whatsoever; no books, either (well, except for the new Lehane and an old McBain); did nothing that was socially responsible or sustainable, no selfless acts for the common good, and I totally forgot to be awesome. Just air-conditioning, golf on television, and martinis--all consumed in prodigious amounts. Priceless.
