Flag Day - Thank you to those that have served for Our Country
Flag Day is a holiday in the United States which celebrates the adoption of the American flag. The holiday is celebrated around the country with parades and memorial services for those who have died in defense of the United States. Like Memorial Day, Flag Day is considered a patriotic holiday, and is particularly celebrated by the Armed Forces and those veterans who have served abroad. Flag Day is celebrated on June 14 each year.

The President and First Lady should be landing (by helicopter) across from our office building in a little while -- always exciting how the big-boy helicopters make the whole neighborhood shake and rattle as they land. Too bad he missed the Vietnam Veteran Memorial's Flag Day ceremonies down on the plaza below and then the parade heading south on Water Street this morning. Love to see the kilts come out...and hear the blessed pipes, of course! We're lucky to have lots of office windows...makes the day go quicker (or not)

Finally got my Fathers Military paperwork so that I can obtain his memorial flag. So amazing as I read through it all to see that he spent 12 years in the military including the United States Marines, United States Air Force, and the National Guard. My Father clearly loved this country and I am so proud to say that I am his daughter. Happy Fathers Day Dad and may you always RIP.
