Today, a friend gave me 2 trays of homemade brownies and thank you notes. I am not a brownie eater so I pulled a tiny piece off to try them so I could say Thank you and that they were tasty. OH MY GOSH, they were heaven...I mean heaven. These look plain..no nuts, no caramel, no icing but they are out of this world. As you are eating it, you taste a slight taste of salt..it is amazing. I couldn't stop eating them. The kids loved them just as much. I realized that this truly is the way we are supposed to make things, from absolute scratch. Of course, I don't do it that way but I do love eating stuff from scratch. These brownies are a work of art I tell ya!

With the rainstorm I forgot to mention our meeting with the police officers this afternoon. Oldest son and I met two wonderful officers of our Independence Division of CMPD (Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department). They were happy to receive the information I had on Autism and Law Enforcement (information courtesy of Dennis Debbaudt) and we even talked briefly about accessible parking abuse. Great chance for both of us to get out into the community, introduce ourselves as advocates and connect with our law enforcement. Already sent thank you notes to our Community liaison, Officer Whaley!
