I read Arch Coal’s statement to the press about their layoffs and nowhere did they blame Obama, the Dems or the EPA. Instead, Arch’s president and CEO John E. Eaves blames “a continuing decline in demand for steam coal in the central Appalachian market”. Power companies are simply switching to natural gas as a cheaper and cleaner energy producer. In a related article, I see that Somerset Kentucky officials are switching their city’s fleet of 75 vehicles from gasoline to natural gas. They expect to save up to 80 percent in fuel costs. Mayer Eddie Girdler said “I drove to Lexington and back for less than $5 worth of natural gas”

Sgt. 1st Class Matthew Bradford Thomas, 30. of Easley, SC was killed along with 1st Lt. Ryan Davis Rawl, 30, of Lexington, SC and Spc. John David Meador II, 36, of Columbia, SC in Khost City, Khost Province, Afghanistan, when their patrol was attacked by a suicide bomber.
